School Groups

Ages: 0-24, Adults
Throughout the school year, Girls Inc. runs in-school groups for girls. Topics range from bullying, self-esteem and body image, to peer pressure, healthy relationships and physical and emotional self-defence. Referrals for the groups can come from anyone - teachers, student support counsellors, parents or caregivers. There is no cost to have Girls Inc. come in and work with a school group. Girls on Fire Mentoring Program

Ages: 0-24, Adults
Girls Inc. is starting a new mentoring program. Girls and volunteers can develop healthy relationships and participate in fun and exciting field trips. There is no cost to participate, however registration is required. Interested volunteers should contact the Girls Inc Offices to register (a CPIC is required). Project Bold

Ages: 0-24, Adults
Project Bold is a physical and emotional self-defence program for women. The program is open to all women, regardless of athletic ability. The program consists of four 2-hour sessions held once a week. The cost for each participant is $80.00, however arrangements can be made for interested individuals who cannot meet this cost. Smart Start Youth Employment Program

Ages 13-24
Smart Start is a life changing program that helps young women set and reach goals for financial self-sufficiency. Over 22-weeks participants are paid a training allowance and earn wages while they gain work experience and make important decisions about the future.

In 2017, 2018 and 2019 we will support 100 young women in Kingston and Belleville, Ontario. If you are a young woman living in these areas, between 15 and 30, and not currently working or in school, we encourage you to click here to complete the application form.

Money Smart Moms

Ages: 13 to Adults
The Money Smart Moms program works with caregivers to help them effectively manage their money and work towards long-term financial self-sufficiency. The group meets bi-weekly to discuss different financial topics such as budgeting and financial planning. The program is flexible and consists of group activities and individual support. There is no cost to participate. You can join at any time, and registration can be done at the workshop. Girls Inc. School and Community Groups

Throughout the school year, we continuously run school and community groups for girls on a wide variety of topics from bullying and relational aggression, to self-esteem and body image, to peer pressure, healthy relationships and physical and emotional self-defence. If you are a teacher, student support counsellor, parent or other individual who would like to arrange a group program for your school or group of girls, please contact our program coordinator.
