Active in Kingston since 1999, The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe space for youth to go after school. Youth can participate in homework help, get involved in healthy activities, play games, socialize, and participate in mentoring from those in the community.

The City of Kingston offers a variety of programs (both registered and drop-in), facilities, beautiful green space and trails to help Kingstonians and visitors lead healthy, active, engaged and community-connected lives. Each season, the Recreation Department releases a Recreation and Leisure Guide outlining a wide range of programs and activities that appeal to all ages and skill levels.
- Extend-a-Family Kingston (EAF)

Extend-a-Family Kingston (EAF) began in 1977 as a volunteer matching program that matched children with community members for weekend and/or after school respite. Today, EAF provides individuals with disabilities, and their families, with coordinated access to regional services, respite, inclusive programs, and opportunities for personal growth, development and successful achievement of life goals.

Frontenac Community Mental Health and Addiction Services (FCMHAS) provides support services for adults (ages 18 and older) with mental illness, drug or alcohol use and/or problem gambling, and their families. FCMHAS builds on an individual’s strengths and community to support in recovery. Founded in 1972, FCMHAS offers a range of services to individuals in Frontenac County, with 3 locations in Kingston.
Rise Asset Development Kingston provides business training, mentorship and lending to youth and adults who have experienced, or are experiencing, mental health and/or addiction challenges.

Housing and Social Services administers various services for families and individuals with specific needs to support their efforts to fully participate in, and contribute to, the Kingston community. Residents looking for support or information on: Ontario Works, accessing childcare, housing/support with the social housing registry, recreation subsidies, transit passes, long-term care, and more can contact Housing and Social Services. The Municipal Fee Assistance Program (offering transit passes, SPARK, PROKids) is available at the Housing and Social Services location. The facility closes early one Wednesday afternoon per month (contact the office for more information). Paperwork can be dropped off at the 24 hours drop box located at the second floor main entrance. The building is accessible and a Kingston transit stop is located just outside.

Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC) is a multi-service Community Health Centre. KCHC aims to care for individuals and families, and response to their neighbourhood concerns to improve their health and build a healthy community. Health is built not only by caring for nutrition, fitness, medical needs, but also by focusing on opportunities to work, play, learn and contribute to the community. Special attention is paid to the social, emotional and financial needs of all clients, as those all pre-requisites of health. Kingston & Frontenac Housing Corporation (KFHC) manages rent-geared-to-income, rent-supplemented and affordable housing units. Available housing options include semi-detached, row housing, and apartments. Interested residents must apply through the City of Kingston’s Social Housing Registry and, if deemed eligible to receive a rent subsidy, are placed onto a centralized waiting list until a unit, which they qualify for, becomes available. Kingston Fire & Rescue’s primary mission is to prevent fires and provide a range of programs to protect the lives and properties of the citizens of Kingston. The force is composed of 335 career and volunteer personnel with a total of 10 fire stations, an administration and emergency operations centre, and a training facility within the City’s response radius. Services provided to the public include: fire safety inspections, fire prevention and fire safety education, fire investigations, emergency response, and enforcement of codes and by-laws.

Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S) is a non-profit community organization that delivers literacy upgrading to adults and families in Kingston and surrounding communities, free of charge. Programs include: upgrading skills in reading, writing, math and computers, occupational curriculum courses, family literacy programming, and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada.

Created in 1841, the Kingston Police Force represents one of the oldest Canadian police forces in existence. The Kingston Police strive to enhance and protect the quality of life of all who live in, work at and visit the City of Kingston. The Kingston Police Force includes: emergency response unit, drug enforcement unit, patrol division, community response unit, traffic safety, criminal investigations unit, and the CORE (Community Oriented Response and Enforcement) unit. Located at 705 Division St., the Kingston Police also operate the Collision Reporting Centre.

The Métis Nation of Ontario has been offering support in Employment and Training in Kingston for over 18 years. Recently, the Métis Nation of Ontario has expanded to introduce Healing and Wellness support that focuses on an individual’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing. The Métis Nation of Ontario is a status blind organization that effectively delivers inclusive and community oriented programming.

Pathways to Education is a community-based program designed to help reduce high school drop-out rates. This free program offers students entering and/or currently enrolled in high school access to tutoring, mentoring (including fun outings and activities), financial support, and (subject to funding) a scholarship that grows with each year enrolled in the program. Please note: students must be living in the north Kingston area (from Raglan Road, north to Conacher Drive and Division St., east to the Cataraqui River).

Town Homes Kingston strives for excellence in providing appropriate mixed-income non-profit homes within the greater Kingston community. Town Homes Kingston owns and manages 397 apartments and townhouse units at several locations in Kingston. Some units are available as rent-geared-to-income. Applications for these units must be completed through the City of Kingston’s Social Housing Registry.
- Yellow Bike Action

​Yellow Bike Action (YBA) is a not for profit community bicycle repair collective, established as a bike share program in 2000. YBA maintains their outreach programs in part by accepting used bicycles donated by the community, refurbishing them, and offering them to the community at an affordable cost, as well as offering affordable repairs. YBA is dedicated to creating community spaces with access to the tools, parts, and information that enable participants to learn how to maintain and repair their own bicycles. Through the bike shop's open exchange program YBA provides nearly 100 bikes for kids every year, as well as distributing lights, bells, and helmets at special events. YBA partners with community groups like Transition Kingston, Friends of the Inner Harbour, the YMCA, the Salvation Army, KCHC, and the Wally Elmer Youth Center to offer onsite bike repair workshops for youth and their families. Yellow Bike Action is also supported by the City of Kingston, and the Society of Professional and Graduate Students, Queen's University. The group’s main repair shop, room 124 at the Memorial Center, is open to the public Wednesday to Friday and Sunday, 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Part of the Kingston community for over 40 years, Youth Diversion works with youth, families, and the community to assist youth in making positive changes and choices. Youth Diversion offers group programs, as well as individual support and counselling.
