Walk-in Clinic

These free clinics offer a chance to come in without making an appointment and talk to a counsellor for up to an hour. This session will focus on the behavioural, emotional or other mental health concerns that you may have and provide you with some advice and next steps. Sometimes just this one session is enough to get you back on track! Children, youth (under 18), parents/caregivers and families in KFL&A are eligible.

Counselling & Therapy

Brief Counselling: for people who need one or two sessions.

Counselling and Therapy: ongoing therapy for more complex needs.

Treatment groups, like:
  • Trauma Treatment (Intergenerational Trauma Treatment Program): a 21 session treatment program for children and youth and their families who have experienced any sort of impactful trauma.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Treatment Group: provides strategies for youth of all ages who are experiencing anxiety & depression.

Intensive

Specialized Classrooms: an in-school classroom for those with behavioural, emotional, and social needs so severe they cannot manage in a typical classroom.

Emotional Regulation programs, like:
  • SNAP (Stop Now and Plan): 13-week preventative program for parent and children aged 6-12 who may be at risk of entering into the Youth Justice System.
  • Social Skills programs, like IDEAS: social skill-building group for those with social, behavioural and emotional issues.
Buddy Time: 3-week social skills-building program for early years.

Intensive In-Home Coaching: ongoing in-home parent coaching for those with high needs.

Parent Education & Capacity-Building

COPE: 10-week program open to clients and the general public that helps parents develop skills to strengthen relationships with their children (especially children displaying social, behavioural and emotional issues).

Parenting Anxious Children: 6-week program educating parents of anxious children (split by early years and age 7+).

Other Targeted Workshops: to help you learn about and support your child's mental health needs like anxiety, emotional regulation, and so on.
