Child and Youth Counselling

K3C offers affordable counselling to children and youth who are experiencing social, emotional and/or relationship difficulties. The fee to access this service begins at $90.00, however this is a sliding scale. Don’t be afraid to negotiate a lower cost that is more affordable for you. Note: K3C does not have a psychiatrist on staff and therefore can’t offer counselling to individuals with severe mental health conditions who require treatment within the formal mental health system. For more information, or to request an appointment, contact K3C.

Adult Protective Services

The program supports adults (18 years of age or older) living with developmental disabilities in living independently, safely and securely. Working in partnership, the individual and the Adult Protective Support Worker (APSW) develop a relationship, which encourages active participation and self-determination. The APSW will advocate on the individual’s behalf, support in accessing and maintaining community supports and services, provide information and referrals, assist in developing problem-solving and life-skills, and offer coordination and case management. There is no cost to access to access the service. Contact K3C for more information.

Youth in Transition Program

Youth (between the ages of 16 and 24) work with the Youth in Transition Worker to successfully transition from the child welfare sector (i.e. Children’s Aid) into adulthood. Youth can get support in finding affordable housing, education assistance, accessing healthcare, developing life-skills, finding employment, and counselling and peer support. There is no cost to participate in the program. Contact K3C for more information or to confirm eligibility.

Family Court Support

The Family Court Support Worker provides support in navigating the family court system to men and women who are leaving relationships where there is domestic violence. This support can include: general information, assist in recording abuse, developing a safety plan, assist with the Legal Aid process and accompany you to meetings and court, provide referrals to additional services, and discussing plans and next steps. There is no cost for the service. Contact K3C for more information or to speak with a family court support worker.
